Our Story
We met again at the George and Dragon in Batheaston on New Year’s. One dance, and a few months later we were together.
On 2 August 2026 Shawn proposed at an elephant sanctuary in Koh Samui, with a rather memorable audience.
Batheaston is where it started, so it felt right to celebrate just up the road.
The Day
Two venues: we’ll marry in the centre of Bath, then head just outside the city for the reception.

Suits or smart casual
No need for anything black tie. February in Bath is genuinely cold, so bring a warm layer — there’s a walk between cars and doors at both venues.

Getting Here
Bath Spa is the station for the ceremony — a short walk to the Guildhall.
Direct services from London Paddington, Bristol and Cardiff.
Bath has a Clean Air Zone, and central parking is limited and pricey.
Avon RFC has its own parking. For the ceremony, consider a Park & Ride or a central car park. Worth checking whether the Clean Air Zone charge applies to your vehicle before travelling.
A few miles from the Guildhall out to Avon RFC, so a short drive or taxi.

Where to Stay
Bath books up quickly even in February, so worth sorting early. A few starting points — do check current prices and availability yourself.
Bailbrook House Hotel
In Batheaston, set in its own grounds and a short drive from Avon RFC. The most convenient option if you’d rather not travel far after the reception.
City-centre hotels
Handy for the ceremony and for making a weekend of it. Apex City of Bath is one of several within walking distance of the Guildhall.
Apartments & cottages
Often better value for families or groups sharing, and there are a number around Batheaston and Bathampton close to the reception.
As a rule of thumb in Bath, mid-range hotels sit around £100–150 a night and higher-end nearer £200+, though February is off-peak so you may do better. Prices not verified — please check directly.
